Refund Policy
Effective 19 May 2026 · Terms of Service · Privacy Policy
This Refund Policy explains when and how refunds are issued for paid plans of Job Application Tracker (the “Service”). It forms part of, and should be read with, our Terms of Service. Current prices are on the Pricing page.
Summary
- There is a free plan so you can try the Service before paying.
- You can cancel anytime; access continues to the end of the paid period (no partial refund for unused days).
- We refund for non-delivery, genuine billing errors, and where UK/EU consumer law requires it.
- Payments are processed by our merchant of record / payment processor (currently planned: Paddle); your statement may show a charge from them.
This summary is for convenience only and does not replace the full policy below.
1. Subscription billing
Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis (monthly or annually, depending on the plan you choose) and renew automatically until you cancel. Usage allowances and AI credits, where applicable, are allocated per billing period and do not necessarily roll over. Payments are processed by our payment processor and merchant of record (Paddle); your billing statement will typically show a charge from Paddle, not from our trading name alone.
2. Free plan first
We offer a free plan so you can evaluate the Service before buying. We do not sell paid access as a surprise trial. Because you can assess core functionality without paying, paid fees are generally non-refundable once a paid plan begins, except as set out in this policy.
3. Cancellations
You can cancel at any time from your account settings (or via the payment provider’s customer portal where that is offered). Cancellation stops future renewals. It takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep paid access until then. We do not provide partial refunds for the unused portion of a period solely because you cancelled mid-cycle, except where required by law (see Section 5).
4. General no-refund rule
Subject to Sections 5 and 6, fees are non-refundable once a paid plan has started. That includes, without limitation:
- partially used billing periods;
- unused or expired AI credits or plan allowances;
- change of mind after you have used paid features;
- promotional or discounted purchases (except where law requires otherwise);
- taxes, except where the law requires a tax refund.
A failed or reversed payment may end paid access immediately. We are not obliged to extend paid access for an unpaid period. Plan upgrades/downgrades are handled according to the Terms and processor rules; they are not a substitute for a cash refund.
5. Statutory consumer rights (UK/EU and others)
If you are a consumer in the UK or EU, you may have a statutory right to cancel a distance contract within 14 days. However, by starting to use paid digital services during that period (for example, consuming AI credits or paid analysis features), you acknowledge that performance has begun and you may lose the right to cancel for the service already supplied. Nothing in this policy limits any non-waivable statutory rights under the consumer law of your country of residence.
6. When we will issue a refund
We issue a refund in these circumstances:
- Non-delivery. Where the paid Service materially fails to be delivered or to function as described and we cannot remedy the problem within a reasonable time after you notify us.
- Duplicate or erroneous charge. A genuine duplicate payment or clear billing error will be corrected.
- Zero-usage cancellation (goodwill where applicable). If you cancel very soon after purchase and have not used paid AI/analysis features in that billing period, we may refund that period’s payment less any non-refundable processor fee, at our reasonable discretion, and move you to the free plan. Any material use of paid features ends this goodwill path.
- Mandatory law. Any refund required by applicable consumer or payment law.
7. Payment-processor fees
When we (or our merchant of record) issue a refund, transaction fees charged by the payment processor on the original payment may not be returned in full. Where the processor retains a fee outside our control, a refund may be for the amount you paid less that non-refundable processing fee, except where the law requires a full refund.
8. Chargebacks
If you believe a charge is wrong, contact us first so we can fix it quickly. Initiating a chargeback for services validly rendered may lead to suspension or termination of your account and recovery of associated costs, without limiting your non-waivable statutory rights.
9. How to request a refund
Email [email protected] (or use the contact form) with:
- the email address on your account;
- invoice / transaction ID if you have it;
- a short description of the issue.
We aim to respond within 5 business days. You may also be able to manage billing through the Paddle customer portal linked from your receipt email.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Refund Policy to reflect changes in the Service, payment processor, or law. Changes take effect when posted on this page with an updated effective date. Material changes will be brought to your attention where appropriate. Continued use after a change is posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy for future purchases; if you disagree, cancel before the next renewal.
